This is a procedure whereby good-quality spare embryos can be frozen and preserved at minus 196 degrees Celcius. In cases of couples who conceive in their very first IVF cycle, these embryos can be later used for a second baby as it would save the woman the pain of undergoing repeated injections.
In cases of women who do not conceive in their very first IVF attempt, these embryos can be used for a repeat IVF cycle. Not only will it save the woman the pain of taking injections all over again, but it would reduce the cost of IVF treatment by about 70 percent for the second attempt.
